VIDEO: Making Pan De Muertos in Pescadero

South Coast residents make pan de muertos as part of Día de los Muertos celebration.

Residents in Pescadero and the South Coast took part in a series of workshops preparing for the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos ("Day of the Dead").

On Tuesday, the group made the traditional pan de muertos (bread of the dead) at Pescadero Elementary School. See the video of the group making the bread here.

In previous weeks, the group made sugar skulls, papel picado (cut paper) and decorated cups in honor of loved ones who have passed on.

All the items will be gathered in a community altar which will be featured at the Pescadero Grown! Farmer's Market this evening.

The workshops took place in Pescadero and were sponsored by South Coast organization Puente.

The presentation will take place from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. at this Thursday's Pescadero Grown! Farmer's Market, which runs from 4- 7 p.m. The market is located at 350 Stage Road in Pescadero.
