Trucks filled with movie equipment lined the streets in Arleta Park in Half Moon Bay.

The crew shooting the surfing movie about Jay Moriarity set up base camp at Poplar Beach while they shot scenes in and around houses on Metzgar St between 1st and 2nd St.

Trailer trucks carrying all manner of moviemaking equipment lined the streets a block in every direction. Curious onlookers watched the action from a distance.

Local residents that I talked to were enjoying the action, stating that everyone associated with the production were very nice and considerate. That has been my experience as well.

Really nice shots, Stuart! We had thought of stopping by to shoot some of our own, but have not been able to map out the time to do so. Looking at these, there is no need for us to be there, after all. Looks like it will be an entertaining flick.

At the risk of being unpopular for being critical, I think the City should have let residents in Arleta Park have more information about this activity up front. Many streets have been blocked from parking and this has proven inconvenient at times. Also, the crew and/or security have been very friendly during the day, but talk loudly at night on the street outside my house past 11:30 pm, which has been a disturbance. I would like to have known the schedule so that I could at least plan around it and know who to call at Iron Cross in case of issues. That said, I will be interested to see our neighborhood in the movie when it comes out.
