Anybody gonna make it up there this weekend? I'm willing to bet there's been some accumulation...

Does anyone know whether there are any predictions yet about what kind of a rainy season we willRead More have? We badly need a good, WET season. In answer to your questions: --I love rain --I had a rain gauge, but it blew away. A block from the ocean, the wind can be crazy. --My gardening (native plant restoration) plans change dramatically when we don't get rain. --I "harvest" rain in several rain barrels. --I've never heard of CoCoRaHS but Googled it. Sounds like a good program.

Avis - The NOAA website has a tremendous amount of information on the climate forecast for N.Am.,Read More and even more on El Nino and the like... As for the upcoming rainy season, it looks to be probably warmer than normal with precipitation about normal. Here's the link: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/long_range/seasonal.php?lead=1 If you click on the "Long Lead" link, they describe the current situation as "ENSO Neutral" which suggests that we are not in for an El Nino/La Nina event. Glad to hear that you looked up CoCoRaHS... I just joined in February of this year, but hey could really use more observers within San Mateo County. You may be hearing more about CoCoRaHS through this blog and more in the coming weeks. Stay tuned :-)
