Yes! We live in El Granada, and all our neighbors were out because of the odor. It smelled to meRead Morel ike gas, and I was a little bit freaked out that there was a massive gas leak. I haven't been able to find anything out about it. I expected a story in the Review this week, but there was no mention of it. Since it was detected from Montara to Half Moon Bay, it must have been huge. Also, nothing on Patch except for your comment, nothing on-line that I can find, and nothing in the Chronicle. You'd think more people would care about this, whatever it was.

I had a Siamese that wandered. Once she didn't come back for days. I was sick and sleepless withRead Morewor ry. I was advised to hang out my dirty laundry and pillowcases outside to heighten the smell of home. She returned so I suppose it worked. That or she escaped the trash can she smelled like she was stuck in! I hope Smokey makes it home!

Yeah, I noticed the nice new building at the corner. Replaced a crappy gas station and subsequentRead Morew eed lot. Looks pretty good. I look forward to you leaving the Coastside. Bye!

Ah... life's typos... One little "i". It's funny. I agree: It's an improvement toRead Morethat corner that's for sure. But hey... maybe a Reality Office would be a good thing. They could pass out reality checks about inflating housing prices, the lack of rentals, the true housing crisis we are experiencing here on the Coastside.... How about a reality check on the ILLEGAL foreclosures going on all around us? Or, how about a reality check on that bottle of milk... what does the label say about GMOs and Growth Hormones..? Nothing. Because WE THE SHEEPLE couldn't vote a change in labeling laws.

We need to put something useful not something we already have more than one realty office is notRead Morewha t we need you to that are so quick to judge the guy that went to 7-11:must have something to do with that building or else you wouldn't be defending it. Why don't you leave we don't need more realtors around here. Bye, bye to you.

Don Horsley is a chameleon, he changes like the wind blows or the seasons change. HOW TERRIBLE that Read MoreSan Mateo's Police Chief Susan Manheimer asked her friends to endorse him when he was first running. Horsley has the same moral clause that Sheriff Munks had when he visited the Nevada brothels.

Today's HMB REview had a front page story about the traffic snarls caused by the triathalon. Read MoreAppare ntly the Mayor approved it and someone in the HMB city hall signed off on the permit. According to the article the Harbor and County also granted permits. I've called the town hall and the organizer of the event to request that they have the decency not to schedule such an event in HMB on Easter Sunday morning again. I suggest that those in the community who share this view let city hall and the harbor district know that they don't want to see any events like this scheduled for Easter Sunday morning. They can have every other Sunday of the year for their events.

Not only did we miss our Easter Services, but I could not drive my daughter to the urgent careRead Moreneede d for immediate attention to her physical issues. Deplorable, thoughtless, etc., What were you thinking? It is an assault on the local community - and we are the ones who vote you in. Duh!
Anne Martin May 03, 2014 at 01:45 AM
I've called city hall and left a message for the city manager and spoken to the organizer of theRead Moreeve nt. I suggest that you and any other people who were affected by this let the Mayor - who approved it, the interim city manager and the harbor commission know how much inconvenience this caused so many people. There was virtually NO NOTICE given to the community about this - despite what the organizer claims. No one I know ever saw a flier about this event. We need to let the politicians who are supposed to represent us - all the people - no just the hotel owners who filled their hotel rooms. Let them know that we won't tolerate events like this in our community on Easter Sunday morning. We are not a public park that exists for the recreational activities of the whole Bay area. We are a community of families who live, work and worship here on Sundays who deserve some consideration.

With all due respect, moving the firehouse to the top of the hill on Bean Hollow Road does not seem Read Morelike the best fit given the current access. Moving large fire equipment up and down the existing road seems like it would slow response times. I agree that the firefighters should be moved to a more appropriate location. I am certain the firefighters know what would work best. The new location hopefully will not require them to sandbag their facility or drive through the flood waters to respond to emergencies in population centers to the east of the creek.

Thank you for posting this. I have seen two Red Shoulder Hawks die from rat positioning thisRead Morespring, and a local bird lost his mate to rat posioning. Coastside residents and local Ranchers need to be educated about this issue locally.

Thank you for bring this up - I have been trying to convey to people that freak out about coyotes,Read Moret hat the circle of life is such - to kill off the coyotes and racoons, means an over populetion of gophers...Poisoning the gophers means poisoning the Hawks AND Owls, not to mention Bobcats, (I pray there are still some around), also Skunks eat gophers.
