Half Moon Bay painter Paula Tuerk recently received an award at the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society Show for her "Little White Schoolhouse" painting.
Juror Karen Frey commented on Tuerk's painting, “This opaque painting is relaxed and loose. Confident brush strokes. Has lots of character.”
Tuerk is a member of Half Moon Bay's Plein Air Painters.
The Plein Air Painters gather at a different location each Wednesday morning for a few hours to paint and enjoy each other's company. Each session is also a chance for painters to learn from each other.
Time permitting, the group gathers at the end of each session to share their morning paintings and talk further over lunch.
