6.9 Quake Felt Throughout Bay Area

Residents as far away as the East Bay have reported feeling the temblor.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 was recorded off the coast of California near Eureka in Humboldt County Sunday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 

The USGS website shows substantial aftershocks ranging from 2.7 to 4.5 magnitude occurring this morning in the area of Ferndale, in Northern California.
 
The quake, which was along the San Andreas fault, was reported at 10:18 p.m. with a depth of 4.3 miles, according to the USGS. Data of the temblor was provided by UC Berkeley, USGS Menlo Park and the Northern California Seismic System. 

No tsunami warnings have been issued since the quake.

According to the USGS "Did You Feel It Map," 3873 residents have reported feeling the quake in 337 zip codes in 17 of the surrounding cities.

KPIX news reported the quake was felt as far away as the East Bay.

No wonder.... I had dreams about being on a boat that night. I woke up Monday morning feeling like I had just gotten off a boat, and hadn't gathered my land legs yet!!! Funny how dreams can tell you something...

I live in beautiful Sonoma County about 30 miles from the Coast. We didn't feel anything. Thank God. Come on up n visit us n then over the hill to Calistoga for a massage n spa treatment. This wine country lifestyle is terrific. Our motto: "Rest. Relax. Enjoy!" God has truly blessed this area with His goodness.... N again, we didn't feel any EQ.
