American Legion to Honor Veterans Day With Service

Half Moon Bay's American Legion Coastside Post 474 invites the public to attend their annual event saluting veterans on this national holiday.

On Monday, Nov. 11, the public is invited to attend the annual American Legion Post 474's Veterans Day service in Princeton to salute the men and women who have served or who are still serving our country.

Veteran's Day is a national holiday to pay tribute to our military personnel serving or who have served in armed conflicts.

Plans for the morning ceremony, starting at 11 a.m., include raising the American flag and then lowering it to half-staff to "Taps" playing in the background. There will also be an opening prayer by post chaplain Howard Weiss of El Granada.

The event will be led by Army veteran Charlie Hall of El Granada and Navy veteran and current post Commander Bob Resch of Montara.

Following the service, a lunch of pork roast, cabbage, yams, onions, and salad will be available, free for veterans and at a charge of $5 for nonveterans.

The American Legion Post 474 is located at 470 Capistrano Road in Princeton.
