Patch readers ranked 2013 on a scale of 1 to 5.

How would you rate the past year? Was 2013 good, bad or just so-so?

Inspired by a recent AP-Times Square New Year’s Eve poll, we asked our readers on Facebook how they rated the year.

Why 2013 Wasn't So Great

Teresa Gutierrez, of Pacifica Patch, calls 2013 "truly the worst year of my life" due to a family member's health care battles. "Our son became extremely sick in February and as a result he got amnesia. One extremely overly stressful and emotional year. If I was able to I would erase this year...Who knows what's to come."

Why 2013 Was "Bittersweet"

Carol Dickow Kirkpatrick, of Pacifica Patch, gives 2013 a 3-rating. "Saved our house from foreclosure, two beautiful babies born in our family, Lilly Kline and Ryder Kline, and family all healthy and happy. Lost one dear, caring best friend Chris Calder this year and miss him so very much. 2014 is going to be a great year!!!"
