We’ve all seen it happen. A dog and their owner — walking on the sidewalk, enjoying the fresh air outside…and then it happens. The dog gets in the hunched-back position, and out comes a little present on your freshly cut lawn.
According to a study done by the U.S.Department of Agriculture, the typical dog excretes three quarters of a pound of waste per day—or 274 pounds per year.
There are some dog owners that would leave that present for the homeowner to deal with, and then there are those that have a plastic bag with them and gladly clean the mess up.
A Patch reader recently posted on a Patch Board that the dog owner cleaned up the dog’s mess, but this wasn’t good enough for the homeowner.
What’s your opinion on this issue? Is there a proper dog-walking etiquette? And if so, what is it?
