Once open, the old section of Highway 1 will be closed to traffic and reopened as a public recreational area.
The photo exhibit, running through May 12, 2013, highlights San Mateo County's effort to build reliable roads and railways to its isolated coastline, from stagecoach roads, to the failed Ocean Shore Railroad, to the rockslide-plagued Highway 1 that exists today.
