The Winner of the Half Moon Bay History Quiz is …

The Half Moon Bay History Association asked HMB Patch readers to identify the happenings pictured in a historic photo. Here's who got it right.

The Half Moon Bay History Association (HMBHA) submitted the historic photo featured here and asked Half Moon Bay Patch readers a couple of weeks ago to guess what was going on in the photo.

All correct answers were entered into a random drawing, which determined two winners. The Half Moon Bay History Association judged all answers.

Since only two people submitted the correct answer, it was easy to pick the winners!

The two winners each get a prize: a copy of “Treasures of Half Moon Bay” walking guide to historic locations in town (usually sells for a $10 donation to the HMBHA).

Congratulations David Poulsen and Brad Higgins for your winning answers!

Thank you to everyone who offered an answer.

Here’s what Dave Cresson of the Half Moon Bay History Association has to say about the photo:

“This photo is of the High School that served the Coastside at turn of the century and on until replaced by a new building in the 1930s, and then moved to another new building (where it is today) in the 1960s.”

Great job David and Brad!

Please e-mail Christa Bigue at christa.bigue@patch.com with your address so the folks at the Half Moon Bay History Association can mail you your prize!
