Warm Beach Weather Coming This Weekend

Prepare for temperatures to warm up on the Coast, possibly reaching the mid 70s by Saturday.

The hottest temperatures so far this year will arrive in the Bay Area this weekend, a National Weather Service forecaster said today.

The temperatures will rise Thursday and Friday with patchy fog giving way to the hottest day in Half Moon Bay expected on Saturday. Sunny skies and a temperature of 72 degrees are expected on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Many cities will be about 10 degrees short of their record highs, according to National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Walbrun. Cooler but warm temperatures around the high 60s are expected Sunday in Half Moon Bay.

The South Bay will get into the low 90s, he said.

The National Weather Service advises people to stay hydrated, wear light clothing and avoid strenuous activities outdoors during peak hours.

"Whatever happens will be relatively short-lived," Walbrun said.
