49th Annual Kings Mountain Art Fair
Tucked away in the redwood forest above Half Moon Bay, the Kings Mountain Art Fair is the hidden gem of Labor Day weekend events.
This event has been going for almost 50 years now, and continues to provide a unique art fair experience, in part due to the setting among giants. Where else can you see oil paintings displayed on the massive trunks of redwoods?
The artists are selected by jury, which ensures a high quality among the art work for sale. The all volunteer staff also helps to set this event apart from other fairs, giving it a more grassroots, non-commercial atmosphere. There are no outside vendors other than the artists and no big stages for music. The focus of this fair is the art.

There are plenty of opportunities for families to enjoy this event. In Kiddie Hollow, children will find not only inexpensive games and crafts, but also huge redwood trunks to climb on, a Native American teepee to explore, and a quiet reading nook. Face painting and fun balloon shapes are also popular with the kids.

49th Annual Kings Mountain Art Fair
What: Festival in the redwoods featuring 138 juried artists, 30 local artists, local beer and wine, children's activies, pancake breakfast with the artists, and lunch prepared by volunteer firefighters
When: Sept. 1, 2, and 3. Pancake breakfast from 8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Artist booths open 10:00a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Where: Kings Mountain Firehouse, 13889 Skyline Blvd., Woodside
