Grub Town Army's Independence Day Celebration

The Grub Town Army brings a legion of gourmet food trucks and vendors to celebrate Independence Day and feed hungry masses

Half Moon Bay, CA – On July 3, 2011 and July 4, 2011, from 11:00 am to Sunset, foodies and families alike will enjoy eating cutting edge cuisine in one of the Bay Area’s best locations at the Grub Town Army’s Independence Day Celebration at the Harbor Village in Half Moon Bay. Some of the tastiest and most popular food trucks and vendors such as Kara’s Cupcakes and BBQ Kalbi will be in attendance. Parking and admission is free.

The Grub Town Army is a central destination for the entire family, located within walking distance of local surf spots, the calm beaches along the Half Moon Bay Harbor, the world famous Mavericks beach, coastal biking and walking trails, specialty shops, and recreational activities.

Festivities include live music, kite flying, Free American flag sticks, face painting, potato sack races, table massages, bean bag and horse shoe toss competitions, and flower demonstrations. The event culminates on July 4th with the Half Moon Bay fireworks show at sunset, which is one of best in the Bay Area. 

The food truck craze has gone viral over social media such as Twitter and Facebook and has exploded throughout cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, New York, Austin, and Portland. Fans and critics agree the new gourmet food trucks revolutionized street food. Whether drawing inspiration from their family recipes, perfecting the art of regional cuisine, or creating new flavors in fusion foods mobile food trucks have something special for every taste bud. Half Moon Bay native Powell Chee is the founder of the event.
