Luau Transforms Cool Harbor Nights

Event to benefit American Cancer Society.

Once again, Cool Harbor Nights graced Pillar Point with its prestigious armada of automotive excellence -- this time with a little extra flavor from the Hawaiian theme brought on by the American Cancer Society.

The cars weren't the only things turning heads at the car show this month. Joining them were colorful decorations, Ahi Barbeque, and hula dancers.

“It's a fun day to give back,” said Yvette, “to know that society benefits organizations devoted to a good cause.”

Other patrons shared the same sentiment. “I feel good about anything being done for this cause,” Moss Beach resident Jerome Brolan said. “I feel great about it.”

Ali Tejada is the coordinator for the Hula dancers. “Cancer is all around me and three of my students are survivors,” Ali said. “I have two very close friends who are going through Chemo right now battling cancer.”

“Anytime I can do something so enjoyable like dance for people and have it be for such a good cause makes me feel like I am helping in some small way,” Ali said.

Cool Harbor Nights isn't the only event being hosted with the illustrious Hawaiian theme. Another event is the Relay for Life, an overnight event where people camp out at different schools and parks and walk tracks and paths.

Despite the cloudy weather at the show on Thursday, people from all over the community came out to support the American Cancer Society, demonstrating that the cause is of the utmost importance. Cool Harbor Nights is clearly a good venue for any sort of organization to let the people know about all the good they are doing for others in need.
