New Book to Tell Story of Half Moon Bay Sculptor
Main St. artist profiled in "Peaceful Warrior: The Life of Ken Paul Lozada."
Grouped together in a driveway at the top of Main Street, the tree sculptures of Ken Paul Lozada are hard to miss. With their unpredictable curves and whimsical shapes, the sculptures comprise their own Seuss-like forest.
Those curious about Lozada's life and work will now be able to learn more in the new book "Peaceful Warrior: The Life of Ken Paul Lozada." Published by Half Moon Bay's Zenjo Press, the book was written by Joanne Ehrich, an artist, author and publisher. Photographs of Lozada's sculptures in "Peaceful Warrior" are by Ehrich and Pete Zivkov.
Along with Lozada's artistic interpretations — in one passage, he describes the sculptures as pieces that "strike a chord of recognition in the forgotten and lonely human" — the book chronicles the artist's life story. Five generations of Lozada family photos are also included.
