New Library Card Available At Half Moon Bay Library

The card features a new design and comes with a smaller version that can be carried on a key tag.

Earlier this month, the San Mateo County Library system launched a new library card with a new design -- one that happens to match the design painted on the Coastside's .

In response to customer requests, users of the system's new card will be able to attach a smaller version card to their keyring featuring their account's barcode, just like the cards used by some grocery stores and gyms. A regular-sized card is also available in the new design.

"We carry around so many different credit cards and store cards, so the addition of the key card provides more flexibility," said Annie Malley, Director of the Half Moon Bay Library.

Users who wish to wish to get a new library card may exchange their current card at any county library for no fee. Though the county library system is encouraging users to get a new card, customers may continue to use their current cards to check out materials.
