PHOTOS: Tide Pools Along the San Mateo County Coast

Twice each month, the sun and moon align and create a lower then normal "minus tide" along our coast, revealing reefs that normally lie covered by the waves. When this occurs during daylight hours and the weather cooperates, an easy opportunity to view the hidden life of the ocean floor presents itself. All of these pictures were taken on the San Mateo County coast.
