The 2012 Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is still months away, but a contest is already underway for the best art to grace the 2013 poster.
Amateurs and professional from across the nation are eligible to enter.
“The design contest has become an important part of the Pumpkin Festival," said Shirley Kellicutt, member of the Coastal Arts League and chair of the contest committee. "The winning design sets the tone and identity for the festival as it's the centerpiece on everything we do," she said. “We're absolutely delighted with the quality of submissions ever year and look forward to welcoming visitors to the Coastal Arts League gallery during the month of October to view the entries and vote on the People's Choice Award. The interest and enthusiasm is always amazing."
The winning entry will receive $1,000, a $500 award for second place, $250 for third (two). Special awards will be given for the “Peoples Choice” ($250) and "Most Creative" ($100).
