San Francisco Giants Player Named Pumpkin Festival Parade Grand Marshal

'J.T. Snow was the sweetest fielding first baseman I've ever seen.' — Cameron Palmer, chairman of the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival committee

Six-time Gold Glove winner and San Francisco Giants all-time fan favorite J.T. Snow will serve as honorary Grand Marshal of the world-famous Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival Parade, Saturday, Oct. 19.

"J.T. Snow was the sweetest fielding first baseman I've ever seen," said Cameron Palmer, Chairman of the festival committee. "He was also a tremendous clutch hitter and inspirational team leader for the Giants for many years. We're delighted and thrilled he has accepted our invitation to serve as parade Grand Marshal this year."

Snow played nine of his 13 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Giants. He was known as the best defensive first baseman of his era. After his retirement as a player in 2008, Snow worked in radio and television broadcasting. He is now a special assistant to the general manager for the Giants and resides year-round in the Bay Area with his family.

The 43rd annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival runs October 19-20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main St. between Kelly Avenue and Spruce Streets in Half Moon Bay. The parade is at noon. Admission is free.

The festival is presented by the non-profit Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee as a community benefit.
