Antique Toys, 1870 - 1930

Saturday, Sunday @ 11 a.m. in Palo Alto

A showcase of exquisite and rare toys from local collectors. The Victorian Age was one of the most prolific periods of invention and technological development. Most early Victorian-age children played with home-made toys: Rag or peg dolls, hoops, wooden tops, tin or wood whistles, stick horses, or whatever came to hand. By the end of the era, children had access to manufactured toys, many of very high quality. Come revisit the adolescence of an industry and its creations that amused, delighted and educated our parents and grandparents.

Just Between Friends of San Mateo

Saturday, Sunday @ 10 a.m. in San Mateo

Just Between Friends is a semi-annual baby, kid's and maternity consignment sale held at the San Mateo Expo Center every spring & fall. Shop the sale and enjoy 50 - 90% off retail prices on gently used kids' toys, shoes, clothes, furniture, strollers, car seats and more! Sell your gently-used, outgrown baby and children's items and earn 60% automatically on all sales. If you can volunteer a few hours of your time, you earn 65%.

We Built It for the Birds

Saturday @ 10:00 a.m in Menlo Park

Docent Jane Moss will lead you on a 1-mile walk through the ever-changing panoramas surrounding a former salt pond. Learn about the exciting ways this area is being reshaped as newly created wildlife habitat. Trail is easy and level. All ages and abilities welcome.

Looking Glass Land

Saturday @ 1 p.m. & 7 p.m., Sunday @ 1 p.m. in Belmont

This wild adaptation of Lewis Carroll's original Through the Looking Glass highlights the pure fun of the story with a huge helping of unabashed silliness!

A romp through Alice's looking glass land retains all of the familiar characters and introduces dozens of new ones: a baseball team, a gospel group called The Responsibilities, a train conductor, a peanut salesman, detectives, a Miss America pageant, star-struck tourists, plastic light saber wielding knights and more.
