Viewfinder: Walking the Dog

Meet some of our local dogs enjoying the warm weather.

A break in the weather makes it easier to photograph our four-legged friends. It's still a bit muddy when you get down to the dogs' level to take their pictures, but everyone, including the dogs, is happy that the sun has come out.

The dogs were fine having their pictures in Half Moon Bay Patch, but most of the owners were reluctant. So shots are exclusively about the dogs, and most of them are close-ups.

A few pictures were taken at the. You can read about it in an about how local dogs and their owners celebrated the holidays.

Look for Mimi in the picture gallery. She is one sweet Shar Pei mix that is looking for a home.

I am far from an expert on dogs and apologize if I mixed up any names.

I'll be looking for you and your dog this summer between Montara and Pescadero for future Viewfinders.

I'm glad you like them. I'm finding quite a few are rescue dogs which appear to be good for the dogs and owners alike. They are excellent subjects and I'll be looking for more. And I shouldn't neglect cats and the many other critters on the coast either.

Great photos Stuart! I want to hug them all! And thanks for highlighting how amazing rescue dogs are. My Tess was a skinny little stray when we brought her home, and now she's a bounding, gorgeous, loving friend. She's been the light in all our lives ever since!

Stuart, Your picture of our dog Avin was much too close up. It showed his gray wiskers and all. You'll hear from our lawyer. Seriously - those are all great pictures. And I know must of those dogs personally!
