Well, Bostonian police officer Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) would probably say “Who says it’s a man’s world out ‘tha’?—that emphatic silent “r”. Afterwards, we could then only imagine FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) just nodding congenially and professionally, not disagreeing. Suddenly, the two of them would rise and sing Ray Charles’ song, “Hit the road Jack, and don’t come back no more, no more, no more.” Now, as far as the central theme of “The Heat” goes, it’s not about Jack not having money, but it’s about women’s capability to do what men can do, wrapped in a package of entertainingly funny pairs of X-chromosomes....
