Cunha's Friends for Change Update

Friends for Change—Making a Difference at Cunha Intermediate School

A great thing is happening over at Cunha Middle School.

What started as a two-person initiative to form the Friends for Change Club has turned into 10 new members sharing a weekly lunch and playing games with students in the Special Education classroom!

Friends for Change is really succeeding in its mission to Make a Difference!

We can't name all the students involved in the club due to student privacy, but if you are in the club and want to be recognized for your compassion, feel free to post comments to this blog and share with your fellow classmates about how much fun the club is to be a part of.

As for what's been happening in the club, here's what Panna has to say in her own words:

"We are going to start new activities to do every week, like Uno card games, hangman and checkers. One day, one of the boys was anxious to see us that he said, "I thought you were going to forget to come," he was really looking forward to our time together.

"He really likes Friends for Change because he has new people to talk to. Another girl, (we'll call her Mary) likes to laugh a lot and loves peanut butter. She likes to dunk her veggies in peanut butter. She loves to see the Friends and looks forward to our company.

"During lunch we like to talk to them about their favorite colors and what activities they like to do. Pretty soon there will be weekly announcements reminding students of the meeting. We are still looking for more boys to join."
