Rare Pacific Leatherback Sea Turtles Spotted in HMB

The annual Leatherback migration along the Pacific Coast runs from June until October or November.

Pacific Leatherback sea turtles, an endangered species, have been spotted in the waters around Monterey, Moss Landing and Half Moon Bay, according to a recent Huffington Post article.

The massive reptiles have been feeding on a feast of jelly fish, their main source of food, through the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, reports the article.

The turtles traveled here from Indonesia to feed off the Northern California coast after nesting in south east Asia.
