The owners of Fog City Restaurant, a now-closed restaurant which served Indian cuisine and pizza in Montara, are set to open a new venture on Main Street.

Raj and Nina Mithal are waiting on the last round of inspections to go through before Ark Indian Cuisine can open by the end of this month. The menu will be the same as the menu they had at Fog City minus the pizza. North Indian appetizers like samosas, baked Indian breads, and pakoras, battered chicken or spinach and lentils are featured, along with entrees of meat, seafood, vegetarian curry and tandoori platters.

Pricing will be a little less than what they charged at their Montara establishment, according to the couple.

“We will now be able to utilize an Indian oven so we will have more grilled items on the menu,” said Raj Mithal. The restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner and take-out Tuesday-Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays.

CLOSED: Coastside Powersports Repair, 143 Main Street Half Moon Bay
The Coast’s go-to place for motorcycle and dirt bike repair is no longer accepting work at the Main Street location. It officially closed on Jan. 15 with plans to reopen by June 1 in a new undisclosed location. If customers have any work at the shop at this time, the owners will return it to you completed as soon as possible. For inquiries, leave a message but it may take the owner more than three days to return your call since no one is actively at shop.

For more information, call (650) 576-3011.

CLOSED: Hilltop Bait Tackle & Deli, 251 San Mateo Road, Half Moon Bay

It’s always sad to see the Mom and Pop shops go. Hilltop Bait Tackle & Deli, run by a dad and his son, recently shut its doors.  This is where locals and visitors would stop on their way out of town for a beverage, snack, or sandwich. It’s also where fishermen — and science teachers looking for worms for their class — came to get all kinds of fishing supplies and bait.  What also made this place so memorable were the salty, hot roasted peanuts, tasty sandwiches and clean restrooms.
