County Dentists Offer Free Dental Exams

Low-income children eligible for complimentary care on Feb. 3 and 4.

San Mateo County dentists are honoring National Children’s Dental Health Month by providing free dental service on Feb. 3 and 4 to low-income kids for Give Kids a Smile Day.

These dentists will join close to 9,500 throughout the country helping provide dental care for children in need and raising dental care awareness.

Thirteen San Mateo County dentists will offer oral exams, cleanings, x-rays and fluoride treatments for kids between the ages of 1 and 18 who are unable to otherwise afford dental care.

“A healthy body starts with a healthy mouth,” said Dr. Gracia Cua in a press release. “Untreated dental disease is painful and affects a child’s physical, emotional and social well being, and yet it’s preventable through brushing, flossing, proper diet and regular visits to the dentist.”

Families can call 650-616-2002 to schedule an appointment. The dentists expect to see about 100 children.
