UPDATED: Getting Your Green On With Celtic Rock, Scottish Fiddlers, and Folk: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Where to celebrate in Half Moon Bay.

There's plenty of places to go out and get your green on for St. Patrick's Day in Half Moon Bay.

Here in town, you won't find just green beer and mint-colored frosting slathered over sweet treats. Locals have concocted celebrations they've stamped with their own unique styles -- take a look at the night the Old Princeton Landing has planned for you, for example.

  • NEW: The American Legion Coastside Post 474 at 470 Capistrano Rd. in Princeton is serving corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, and carrots at 12 noon and 4:00 p.m. Cost: $10.00. Insider tip: They always sell out, so come early if you want to eat here.
  • will celebrate to the music of Diane Burns, Mo Robinson and Peter Bland, who will play Irish folk music from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. 
  • Want to spend your day helping out a good cause? From 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., is having a traditional Irish dinner along with a silent auction benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside. The Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers will also play throughout the evening. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the or the Boys and Girls Club, located on the campus of .
  • : The headliner is Celtic-based band Claddagh featuring Shana Morrison, the daughter of Van Morrison, along with Kevin Brennan and Grant Walters. The Brewing Company will serve corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes, Stout Beef Stew (herbs, spices, vegetables and the Brewing Company's Imperial Stout), along with a side of Colcannon featuring kale, mashed Peruvian and Yukon Gold potatoes with herbs. Food served all day, with the evening celebration lasting from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. 
  • In honor of the holiday, will be serving their today, tomorrow, and on St. Patrick's Day.
  • From 5 p.m. - 9 p.m., the Miramar Beach Restaurant is serving a 3-course meal for $19.95 including Roast Lamb Loin, Caesar Salad, and apple pie a la mode. Bottle wines are 25% off.
  • The Moss Beach Distillery has an Irish-themed 3-course prix fixe menu it will be serving on Thursday and Friday for $18.95 per person: Bacon and baked potato soup, a main course of corned beef brisket and cabbage with Irish dumplings, and a dessert of key lime pie.
  • More Irish music at the Old Princeton Landing, but with their trademark twist: Celtic rock group O'Craven will perform at 8 p.m. There will be green beer, but also Irish coffee, green shots, Snake Bites, Irish martinis, Nutty Irishmans, and Irish Trash Cans (yes, they are all drinks).   
  • The Lighthouse String Band will play Irish folk music at The Wine Bar from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
