Look What's Moving Into Half Moon Bay's Caboose

A gourmet hotdog and hamburger joint called Daddy-O's!

Steve Cicornio has been very busy the past few days painting his brother Robert's caboose yellow.

"There's more yet to come," said Cicornio, splattered in the bright canary yellow paint. "This is just the accent color."

Robert Cicornio took over the lease of the landmark caboose in March shortly after helping his sister build-up the neighboring business in Shoreline Station, Tortellini Originali Pasta Co., an Italian restaurant that features traditional and contemporary favorites, such as pasta, sausage, meatballs and other dishes in a dine-in or takeout setting.

"I decided to go out on my own," he said. "Permits are all in place, we're on track with opening and as always, quality comes first."

Slated to open mid-July, Daddy-O's will serve up gourmet hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese and side dishes like BBQ pulled pork and salads. The menu is still in the works.

"All original recipes, fresh, no antibiotics," said Cicornio.

Everything will be made to order on site with ground beef and bratwursts delivered three to four times a week.

"We're going to put a twist on some classics and offer high-end grilled cheeses and stuffed burgers," said Cicornio.

Stayed tuned to find out more about Daddy-O's.
