, the Coastside’s popular live local theatre program, is running an “Eat for a Seat” event designed to raise money to renovate the theater's seating area.  Customers who dine at participating restaurants from September 15 through October 31 will be encouraged to donate to the cause. Restaurants will match guest donations up to a maximum of $1,000 each.

Over a thousand glistening glass pumpkins and other unique glass art objects will be available for purchase when Half Moon Bay Art Glass presents its 3rd Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Showcase and Sale at the in Half Moon Bay, California.  Visitors to the Winery are invited to wander outside through a stunning artistic installation of one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins of every size and color, as well as other unique glass art objects that permanently capture the many facets and beauty of nature. Half Moon Bay Art Glass owner and well-known local glass artist, Douglass C. Brown, will present regularly scheduled glass blowing demonstrations utilizing the latest techniques on-site throughout each day.  The first 50 customers who visit the Winery each day during the 3rd Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Showcase and Sale weekend will receive a specially handcrafted glass item at no charge. While at the Winery, guests are also welcome to join in the wine tasting, play some bocce ball, and enjoy a picnic in the flower garden. Lecturer Bill Pemberton grew up in
southern Oklahoma and received his B.A. at the
University of Oklahoma, followed by his M.A. and Ph.D. in history at the University of Missouri.  He began teaching at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 1966 and retired from there in 1998.  He taught world history and recent American history, with a speciality in the modern presidency.  He had four books published: Bureaucratic Politics: Executive Reorganization during the Truman Administration; Harry S. Truman: Fair Dealer and Cold Warrior; Exit with Honor: The Life and Presidency of Ronald Reagan; and George Bush, a biography for middle school students.  He wrote over seventy articles, mainly on recent U.S. history and on literature.  Bill and his wife, Marty, moved to Canada Cove from Wisconsin to be near their son and daughter-in-law, who live in San Gregorio.
