Jobless Rates Fall Across Bay Area
San Mateo County's jobless rates declined slightly from 8.4 percent in January to 8.3 percent in February.
All Bay Area counties showed decreases in jobless rates in February compared to January's numbers, according to a recent report by the state Employment Development Department.
In Alameda County, jobless rates fell from 11 percent to 10.7 percent, and in Contra Costa County, they fell from 11.2 percent to 11 percent, according to a March 25 report released by the EDD.
Napa's jobless rates fell from 10.7 percent to 10.3 percent.

San Mateo County's jobless rates declined from 8.4 percent to 8.3 percent, and Santa Clara County's numbers dropped from 10.5 percent to 10.3 percent.
In Santa Cruz County, unemployment declined from 14.8 percent to 14.6 percent, and Solano County saw its rates decrease from 12.4 percent to 12.1 percent.

Sonoma County's jobless rates were reduced from 10.5 percent to 10.2 percent, and Monterey County's rates fell 17 percent to 16.9 percent.
San Francisco County saw its unemployment numbers decrease from 9.5 percent to 9.1 percent.
Marin County's unemployment numbers went down from 8.2 percent to 7.8 percent.
Solano County dropped from 12.4 percent to 12.1 percent over the course of the month.
The state's unemployment rate is based on a federal survey of 5,500 California households and does not include agricultural jobs, according to the department.
