A new Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce member is offering something pretty unique to locals and tourists alike.
FlyBayArea’s SkyTours includes a scenic Pacific Coast air tour of Half Moon Bay to Pigeon Point.
For one to three passengers, the 30-minute flight out of the San Carlos Airport flies west over Crystal Springs reservoir towards the Pacific Coast along Highway 92. From Half Moon Bay, the plane flies south along the shore to explore the Pacific Ocean coastline towards Pescadero and Pigeon Point. The flight then takes an easterly heading, crossing over the Woodside area with its redwood forests before returning to the San Carlos Airport.
The cost is $289 per person and there’s an option to add on an in-flight digital photo or video of the experience for an extra charge.
FlyBayArea is an FAA-approved Air Tour Operator at the San Carlos Airport. The company’s mission is “to share the beauty of powered flight and make recreational flying accessible to everyone.”
Children are allowed on a SkyTour but have to be 8 years or older and anyone less than 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
“We're excited to welcome Fly Bay Area - SkyTours to the Coastside Chamber,” said Chamber president Charise McHugh. "I have always wanted to offer tours of our magnificent coastline!”
