Where to Party Like It’s 1999

OK, the year is 2012, but if you want to celebrate New Year's Eve like there's no tomorrow, here's where in Half Moon Bay.

It's not the opening of a new millennium but it is a new year, a fresh start, an opportunity to let your hair down and "party like it's 1999" just like Prince's 1982 hit conveys. So for New Year's 2012, if you're in the mood to ring in 2013 as if you’re living today like it’s your last, here's where you can celebrate in Half Moon Bay with good music, food and drinks.

Cameron’s Restaurant and Inn in Half Moon Bay will air on their televisions the Times Square countdown at 9 p.m. for the kids, complete with a piñata. Grown-ups can dance to the rocking Robin Campbell Band from 9 p.m. until midnight, when you can enjoy complimentary champagne. And there will be party favors and hats all evening.

Café Gibraltar in El Granada will celebrate with a live jazz trio at 8 p.m. and a midnight champagne toast.

Cetrella in Half Moon Bay presents the West Coast Soul Band and a midnight champagne toast and a prix-fixed menu.

The Half Moon Bay Brewing Company in Princeton will be hoppin' with blues and soul music by Tia Carroll from 5 to 9 p.m.

It’s Italia in Half Moon Bay features Celtic harp music by Angelica “Ella” Jenkins from 6 to 9 p.m. Two dinner seatings include a midnight champagne toast.

La Costanera in Montara will celebrate with a deejay spinning Top-40 music for dancing in the downstairs lounge with complimentary champagne at midnight.

Miramar Beach Restaurant in Miramar kicks off New Year’s Eve with pianist Terry Disley from 5 p.m. until closing at 9 p.m..

Old Princeton Landing in Princeton presents Dub FX, California reggae, starting at 8 p.m.

Pasta Moon in the Music Box in Half Moon Bay presents “DJ Boomerang” aka Michael McNamara, playing a little of everything — soul, funk, world beat, contemporary classics, jazz fusion and more — from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay presents music from a deejay in the Conservatory Lounge beginning around 6 p.m. to go with two dinner seatings at Navio restaurant.
