4th of July in HMB - Annual Traditions Never Disappoint

It was a fine, festive 4th of July/Independence Day celebration.  From the Lion's Club pancake breakfast to the festively dressed flag-waving crowd, and the old-fashioned parade with excellent music performed by the Half Moon Bay Sit-Down Marching Band, the annual traditions did not disappoint.

This is our home town at its best! Even though the official "Pooches on Parade" did not march this year, you would never know it, with more than the usual number of canines represented.  The HMB Library's return book drill team's march was spectacular, as always, and the Oddfellows danced their way down Main Street like Broadway professionals.  The Shely Pack Dancers were skillful and graceful on the pavement. We saw many of our friends and neighbors in the crowd and on the floats.  Cameron Palmer announced the entries with his usual flair and humor.

With so much going on and more than I can describe, I hope that the few photos that Mike & I are sharing here will give you an idea.

After the parade, we stopped off at the Coastside Adult Day Health Center's Red White and Blues BBQ,  and enjoyed the music performed by Grant Walters and the Claddaugh Band.   Later, we stopped in at the American Legion Post on our way home, with their Annual BBQ, and music we could dance to.  All in all, a funtastic, memorable 4th!
