2.1 Earthquake Hits San Carlos Thursday Night

Quake struck at 11:38 p.m.

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a
preliminary magnitude of 2.1 struck Thursday night in San Mateo County.

The quake shook San Carlos at 11:38 p.m. and had a depth of 1.7
miles, according to the USGS.

The epicenter was two miles northwest of Redwood City and four
miles southeast of San Mateo.
