76-Year-Old Pacifica Woman Reported Missing

She was last seen in Pacifica Wednesday afternoon.


Officers from the Pacifica Police Department were alerted that 76-year-old Maria "Marlies" Jansen had gone missing in the Park Pacifica area of Pacifica at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25.

Police report that Jansen was last seen by her husband in the area of their home a few hours earlier. Her husband was not able to locate her. Jansen is known to walk the trails near Park Pacifica.

A search of nearby areas and homes yielded no results, and the assistance of the San Mateo County Sheriff Search and Rescue Unit was then enlisted.

Anyone who has seen Maria Jansen is asked to call 9-1-1.

Jansen is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing yellow "Croc"-style sandals.
