San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control ecologists have confirmed that a bird infected with chronic West Nile Virus (WNV) has been found in Belmont.
On Sept. 18, an infected house finch was reported authorities. The SMCMVCD did not give a specific location of the bird.
The updated list of all positive and chronic positive WNV birds and squirrels for 2012 in the county can be found in the PDF document accompanying this article.
SMCMVC says the current seasonal totals are: 4 WNV Positive birds, 12 WNV chronic positive birds, and 3 WNV chronic positive squirrels.
