Boy Crushed By Falling Tree Near Pescadero
The child was sleeping in a tent when the tree crashed down on him.
A 12-year-old boy sleeping in a tent was crushed by a falling tree, sending him to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford with critical injuries.
The child was camping with his extended family when the freak accident happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Another 12 year old boy was in the tent but was not seriously hurt. Other family members slept nearby.

The family from Arizona was camping at Memorial Park, a San Mateo County Park, about seven miles east of Pescadero.
The 40-ft-tall fallen tree showed no outward signs that it was in danger of falling. The trunk of the tree was about one foot in diameter.
