UPDATE: Search Underway for Missing Person After Boat Collision Near Hunter's Point

Incident took place today between dinghy and motorized vessel.

The Coast Guard is searching for a missing person after a collision took place today between a dinghy and a motorized vessel near Hunter's Point in San Francisco.

The missing person was one of two passengers on the dinghy. The second passenger was rescued, according to the Coast Guard, as the individual was able to climb on top of the small boat's capsized hull.

The Coast Guard has deployed a 25-foot response boat from Station San Francisco and an MH-65-Dolphin helicopter from Air Station San Francisco in its search for the missing passenger.

It is not known what caused the collision. The Coast Guard reports that the cause will be investigated.
