Colorado Massacre: Will You Stay Home This Weekend?

In the wake of a mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, will you stay away from theaters and other public buildings this weekend?

 

Coastsiders awoke to horrific news this morning--a gunman had entered a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado during the midnight showing of the new Batman movie, killing at least 12 people and injuring another 50.

The gunman set off some type of smoke bomb, then started shooting. It was all over in just a minute or two, and the gunman was immediately arrested, but the shockwaves have spread from that Denver suburb across the nation as fast as an earthquake.

  • Seal Beach is only nine months removed from the in which eight people were killed and one wounded.
  • The McDonald’s massacre in 1984 resulted in 21 killed and 19 injured in San Ysidro, near San Diego.
  • The in 1976 ended with seven dead and two injured.
