“On Thursday night he sent out a mass text message basically saying he was a waste of oxygen on this earth,” Jorgensen’s mother Cindy Crow told ABC 6 TV in Idaho. After confirming with Idaho police that Jorgensen’s whereabouts were unknown, Crow immediately left her California home and headed for Boise, Idaho.

Crow told police that Jorgensen suffers from severe post traumatic stress disorder likely related to his tour in Afghanistan. He also may be in need of medication. A Facebook page set up by Jorgensen’s family indicates that he may be suicidal.
