Increased Truck Traffic in Vicinity of Crystal Springs Dam on Weekends

Trucks delivering cement to pour foundation for base of Lower Crystal Springs Dam.

For the next three Friday nights and Saturday mornings until September 3, there will be increased truck traffic on Black Mountain Road, Skyline Blvd. and Crystal Springs Road near the southern trailhead to the Sawyer Camp Trail, according to a message sent from the Hetch Hetchy Water System Improvement Program to the San Mateo Non-Emergency alert system.

The trucks will be delivering cement to pour the foundation for the base of Lower Crystal Springs Dam. Truck traffic is expected to continue on Saturdays until 12 noon.

According to the Hetch Hetchy Water System Improvement Program, the project will increase the size of the dam's stilling basin with the objective of slowing any spillway flows as they enter San Mateo Creek.
