Mountain Lions Topic of Community Meeting Tonight

Sighting of yet another mountain lion in the Portola Valley Hills

The sighting of yet another mountain lion earlier this week makes a previously-scheduled community meeting tonight in Redwood City all the more pertinent.

The big cat was spotted Monday night in Portola Valley, emergency officials said, seen crossing Portola Road and heading toward Portola Green Circle at 9:24 p.m.

Wildlife experts and public safety officials had planned for tonight's community meeting in Redwood City to discuss incidences of mountain lions entering urban and residential areas. Officials from the state Department of Fish and Game, Bay Area biologists, Redwood City police Capt. Dan Mulholland and San Mateo County Sheriff Capt. Mike Wyss are among those expected to participate.
