PG&E On Site To Fix Downed Power Line In Pescadero

According to PG&E, there is a chance that 158 customers in the area might lose their power tonight while crews fix the line that went down at 5:26 p.m. today.

PG&E crews are currently on site at a downed power line in Pescadero that serves 158 customers east of Highway 1 from Pescadero Creek Road south to Elliott Creek, according to Jana Morris, spokesperson for the agency.

Morris said that the line went down at 5:26 p.m. on Monday. Despite its downed state, no customers are without power, and the line is still live, she said (at the time of publication).

"We don't want to inconvenience customers by turning off their power, and since crews are at the area now, most likely they've made the area safe," Morris said. "It will be fixed this evening."

However, there is a chance that these customers could lose power later tonight while crews work to fix the line, Morris said.

"Safety is their number one priority, so if they determine that work cannot be done with electricity running through the wires, they will have to de-energize the lines," she said.

Morris could not confirm whether the 158 customers had lost power earlier in the evening because of the downed line.

"Because this is an ongoing incident right now, our system doesn't have the ability to show whether or not these customers lost power -- it only shows if there was an outage for a long period of time," she said.

"There is a chance they may have lost power," she said, "and still a chance they could lose power tonight while they fix the problem."
