What happened to the Phyllis J crabbing boat after it left Francis Beach?

The Phyllis J crabbing boat was a popular topic of discussion among local residents for the 24 days she was stationed at Francis State Beach, at the foot of Kelly Ave. in Half Moon Bay.

The boat early in the morning of Jan. 4 on Francis Beach during a crabbing trip. Owner of the boat, Larry Fortado, and crew members escaped safely. An and it took several weeks to bring the boat up the beach to the picnic area where the for transport up Highway 1.
