PHOTOS: Parade Kicks Off July 4 Celebration in Half Moon Bay

Photos from this afternoon's Main St. parade.

Half Moon Bay's Main St. came alive this afternoon with a procession of goats and floats, horses and hayrides, and over 200 costumed dogs who participated in today's Old Fashioned July 4 parade along with their proud guardians.

Grand Marshall Karol "Bo" Bobko, NASA space shuttle commander, led the parade in front of a captive audience of adults and children alike. Dozens of community organizations and civic agencies marched along the route down Main St., including Coastside Hope, Coastside Land Trust, Coastside  Mother's Club, Half Moon Bay Library, 4-H, Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, Half Moon Bay Rotary Club, Half Moon Bay Lions Club, the Oddfellows Ocean View Lodge, the Coast Guard, Coastside Fire District, Sheriff's Office Lt. Lisa Williams, Half Moon Bay Police, Half Moon Bay Horseshoe Club, and the families of city councilmembers "Farmer John" Muller and Allan Alifano. Muller drove his John Deere tractor on behalf of Farmer John's Pumpkins and Alifano Technologies.

Check back later today for a video of the parade, along with coverage of the Bark-B-Q at Cameron's Inn and Restaurant, and photo galleries of this morning's pancake breakfast, Pooches on Parade, Coastside Adult Day Health Center Barbeque, and tonight's Pillar Point fireworks in Princeton.
