Every year Coastsiders look foward to seeing the centerpiece on all promotional material for the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival — the winning poster from the annual poster design contest.
Rebecca Coffman’s design pictured here was selected as the winner of the 2012 Pumpkin Festival Poster Design Contest. Coffman is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator living in Portland, Oregon, and received $1,000 for her winning design.
Entries for next year's Pumpkin Festival Poster Design Contest, a joint effort by the Coastal Arts League and Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee, have already been submitted and will be on display as part of a special show during the month of October at the Coastal Arts League Gallery, 300 Main Street in Half Moon Bay.
Everyone is encouraged to stop by to vote for the “People’s Choice” award and to see the submissions for next year’s festival.
“The design contest has become an important part of the Pumpkin Festival," said Shirley Kellicutt, member of the Coastal Arts League and chair of the contest committee. "The winning design sets the tone and identity for the festival as it's featured on everything we do," she said. “We're absolutely delighted with the quality of submissions every year and look forward to welcoming visitors to the Coastal Arts League gallery during the month of October to view the entries and vote on the People's Choice Award. The interest and enthusiasm is always amazing."
A special opening and reception, with all contest entries on display, will be held on Friday, October 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Coastal Arts League.
