SFO Flights to San Diego Cancelled Last Night

Massive Southern California blackout the cause.

Eleven flights between San Francisco International Airport and San Diego International Airport were canceled Thursday night after a Southern California power outage hit San Diego and Orange counties and parts of Arizona and Baja California.

SFO airport duty manager Bob Rotiski said eight flights headed to San Diego and three flights arriving into SFO from San Diego were canceled throughout Thursday evening and night.

Three carriers fly between SFO and San Diego International including Virgin America, United and Southwest Airlines.

There are reports of the SoCal blackout affecting more than one million customers after a power line in Arizona failed.

Power was down around 4 p.m. Thursday and is expected to return sometime today.
