Ten Years Since 9/11: Send Us Your Photos for Posting

If you could select one image of how you feel your world has changed since then, what would it be?

The day of September 11, 2001 is not one that will be easily forgotten by many Americans.

On the tenth anniversary of 9/11, Half Moon Bay Patch would like to post photographs that reflect how Americans have been affected in the last ten years by the event. How has the event changed the way you have approached life since then? What about your friends, your family and your community?

Here on the West Coast, an image might not immediately come to many beyond what you saw on television that day. Upon reflection, though, you might remember something important that you want to share.

Did your school or employer do anything special in the coming months to help the victims' families? Did you go to Ground Zero in New York City to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on that day and those who helped with rescue efforts? Did you have a parent, sibiling, spouse, or best friend deploy to the Middle East? Did you participate in anti-war protests or actions? Or did you change residences or jobs after realizing the uncertainties of life and the importance of spending time with loved ones?

Whatever your story is, we'd like you to send us a photo by this Friday, August 26, that represents a significant memory you have in association with 9/11, or one that represents what the 10-year anniversary means to you. Accompanying written stories (which can be as short as a few sentences or as long as a few paragraphs) are welcomed, but not required. And don't forget to please send us the original photo from your files (meaning a photo that has not been processed or altered in any way).
