Viewfinder Photos: Barn Hunting

Backroad barns from Half Moon Bay south to Pescadero.

The San Mateo Coast may be a weekend vacation destination for many, but land use has been reserved for primarily agricultural purposes. Nestled among the rolling hills along the back roads south of Half Moon Bay, you can find old and new examples  of barns. Barns are traditional farm architecture that house livestock and store farm equipment, each one unique and each telling a story.

These barns are easily spotted along Pescadero Road, Old Stage Road, Tunitas Creek Road, Verde Road and Higgins Purisma Road.
